oatmealYes, this had already been posted one time, but I’ve had several people asking me again about what they can eat for breakfast that will be healthy AND filling.

So, here is my hearty yummy┬ábreakfast. The main thing I try to accomplish with my breakfast is to eat something that will fill me up, keep me feeling full for a while, and give me a good bit of protein and fiber. You’ll have to forgive the part about the cereal (I know it comes in a box), but the Kashi Go Lean definitely helps add some of that protein and fiber I’m looking for.

Ingredients:

1/2 Cup Old Fashioned Rolled Oats (not quick oats)
1/2 Cup water
1/2 Cup Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
3/4 C Kashi Go Lean Cereal (Just the plain “Go Lean”)
2 tsp Ground flaxseed
2 Tbps Wheat Bran
2 tsp cinnamon
1 packet Truvia (or stevia)
1/2 apple, chopped (I eat the other half by itself with my oatmeal)

Directions:

Add the water and almond milk to the oats and stir well. Microwave the mixture for 2 minutes. Remove from the microwave and add the flaxseed, wheat bran, cinnamon, and Truvia and stir well. Add the apples and stir well. Add ~2/3 of the cereal and stir well. Microwave an additional 30 seconds. Add the rest of the cereal and stir again. ENJOY! Be careful! It’s a little hot at first.
