you taught me

I asked, and you answered!

Thank you to all of you who took the time to complete my 2016 Reader Survey! Some of the results were exactly what I expected, but you taught me a few things, too.

So, thank you!

I do love to learn new things, and I especially enjoyed learning ways I can make this blog better. Ways I can better meet your needs and help you reach your goals each time we come together.

Do you want to know the results?

I was not surprised to find that 84% of you are women. However, I was pleasantly surprised to know that 16% of you are men. I realize that’s just simple math, but I’m glad that you – men – don’t feel excluded and alienated.

Men, I know at times, it may be more female-focused, but know that any truth is still truth and applicable to you as well!

I did find some exciting and eye-opening news when it comes to the age ranges most of you fit into.

The largest group, by far, are between the ages of 35-44.

The next two highest groups are 45-54 and 55-64!

Consequently, the age ranges really helped me realize that almost half of you are over the age of 45. Now, that’s still some spring chickens, but you may see just a few changes in the near future because of that (more on that later).

You have a lot in common!

I’m sure many of you feel like you’re all alone in your struggles – whether they be with your job, your finances, your family, or your health.

Rest assured – you are not alone!

When I asked what areas of concern are keeping you from having a full life right now, many of you agreed. And every category had multiple “yes’s.” Again – you are not alone!

By and large, many of you struggle with your health and wellness.

Interestingly enough – a later question asked about weight loss, and few chose that as an issue. In fact, I found it very refreshing that so many of you just want to be healthy and feel good – not focus solely on losing weight!

Many of you also reported that you felt like your jobs and finances were hindering you from having a full life. Again – this was pretty interesting because very few of you set goals about your careers or money.

Maybe those are areas you need to focus on in the near future (You know who you are.)

On that note, I was pretty excited to learn how many of you set goals!

About half of respondents report setting yearly goals.

Which does, unfortunately, mean that half of you don’t!!!

So…you will definitely be hearing about that again soon.

It was also pretty neat to know how many of you set goals that pertain to spiritual and personal growth.

It’s like Paul said,

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.    – 1Timothy 4:8

Yes, we need to be good stewards of our bodies – offering them as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1), but we need to make sure our spiritual selves are in check first.

And you guys get that!

So, what does all this mean for you?

I will be doing some blog renovations. We won’t have a Demo Day because it doesn’t seem there’s a lot to get rid of, but I will be tweaking things just a little.

You will likely see more exercise programs for people who are just getting started.

Not everyone is game for Burpees (Blows your mind, I know.). You will also see some variations of exercise plans for more stretching, balance, seniors, and those who need to start from the ground floor.

Now, don’t worry – for those of you who are on the advanced train – look out. I’ve got some awesome stuff up my sleeve for your, too.

Basically – if you read this blog, you’ll find something for you.

I also learned that just about ALL of you use Facebook and Pinterest.

So, I am asking for your help!

When you read a post – either through the email subscription (if you aren’t subscribed – you can be by clicking over on the right side of this page) or through social media, please share it!

There are buttons at the bottom that make it super easy!

If something resonates with you – share it!

If you think a friend would enjoy it, tag them in that post so you can make sure they get to read it.

This blog will continue to get better and meet your needs because of you.

And for that, I say – Thank you!
