Have you ever questioned if God really loves you?
I’m sure you – like me – have heard all your life that God loves you. As a matter of fact, I’m sure you know that God loved the world so much he sent His only Son to die for us, right? At least that’s what you’ve probably heard your whole life if you grew up in church (or the South).
But do you ever find yourself questioning that?
Have you ever looked around you at your circumstances and thought,
“Does God really love me?”
Maybe you’ve had a string of bad things happen in your life. Or, perhaps your present doesn’t quite look like the future you dreamed of years ago. Or, maybe you’re even in a “desert” time, and it seems God is far away.
Have you ever been there?
I think if we’re being honest we would all answer a resounding YES to that question. I know I would.
That’s the main reason I was intrigued by the new release from Jennifer Rothschild
In this book, Jennifer takes the reader on a journey through each of the 66 books of the Bible and demonstrates how God’s love can be found in each one.
Many times when reading the Old Testament, the stories of God’s wrath are the ones that have seemed to jump off the pages for me. You know the ones – Noah’s Arc, Sodom and Gomorrah, the plagues in Egypt, etc.
And, even the stories of desert wandering and suffering like the ones found with Elijah and Job.
As a result, it’s often in stories like those we want to think, “Why does God let bad things happen to good people?”
But, many times I have missed the beauty of God’s love in each of those stories.
In 66 Ways God Loves You, Jennifer is able to pull from each book of the Old and New Testaments and demonstrate the immense power and depth of God’s love in every one of them. Even when it seems something bad happened to someone good, God’s love is still there.
For instance, when discussing the book of Job, Jennifer says this,
“We all suffer, and suffering hurts…God loved Job, and God loves you….If you feel like Job, remember that God’s love surrounds and sustains you. Nothing touches your life that has not first penetrated His heart and passed through His loving hand…Often God chooses to love us through suffering because it moves us from just having a little information about God to a place of intimately knowing and depending on the God who loves us.”
It’s easy to look at suffering and wonder where God’s love is, but 66 Ways God Loves You can help you figure it out. I know it certainly opened my eyes to the reality that you find what you’re looking for.
If we take a moment to look for God’s love in every situation, we will certainly find it.
And this book proves that!
Another concept this book shares that really resonated with me is this truth –
God loves you passionately, perfectly, and personally.
If we can just hold on to that truth and look for God’s love in every situation, I think we’ll find just what we’re looking for. And I can help you with that!
I did receive two free copies of this great new book – one to read and the other to…
